    Cryolite is a mineral with the chemical formula Na3AlF6. It is a rare and naturally occurring compound that belongs to the class of halide minerals.

    Bonded Abrasives Cryolite is crystalline white powder. Slightly soluble in water, density 2.95-3, melting point 1000℃ , easily absorbing water and become damp, decomposed by strong acids like sulfuric ACID and hydrochloride, then producing hydrofluoric acid and relevant aluminum salt and sodium salt.

    1. Fused Alumina Production:
    Cryolite is sometimes used as a flux in the production of fused alumina, an abrasive material. Fused alumina is produced by melting alumina (aluminum oxide) along with certain additives, including cryolite.
